We plan to cover sections 1-41 of the text. Lecture notes for additional topics will be distributed from time to time.
There will be weekly problem sets, examinations in class on Friday, February 12 and Friday, March 26, and a final examination, tentatively scheduled for Monday, May 10, 12:00-2:00. 20% of the final grade will be based on the problem sets, 40% on the exams in class, and 40% on the final exam. Problem sets will generally be assigned on Friday and will be due by noon the subsequent Friday. Students should submit their problem sets at the end of class on Friday or place them in Mr. Guillot's mailbox in Cohen 433 before the deadline of noon. Late problem sets will be accepted, with a fifteen point penalty, until 10:45 am on the following Monday.
