Equative BE: Tnx0BEnx1

Description:
This tree family is selected only by the verb be. It is distinguished from the predicative NP's (see section 6.24) in that two NP's are equated, and hence interchangeable (see Chapter 9 for more discussion on the English copula and predicative sentences). The XTAG analysis for equative be is explained in greater detail in section 9.4.
