Ditransitive: Tnx0Vnx1nx2

Description:
This tree family is selected by verbs that take exactly two NP complements. It does not include verbs that undergo the ditransitive verb shift (see section 6.5). The apparent ditransitive alternates involving verbs in this class and benefactive PP's (e.g. John baked a cake for Mary) are analyzed as transitives (see section 6.2) with a PP adjunct. Benefactives are taken to be adjunct PP's because they are optional (e.g. John baked a cake vs. John baked a cake for Mary). 122 verbs select the ditransitive tree family.
Examples:
ask, cook, win
Christy asked Mike a question .
Doug cooked his father dinner .
Dania won her sister a stuffed animal .
