Applications are invited for two Research Fellowships available from
January 1996 in the Laboratory for Foundations of Computer Science, a
research unit of the University located within the Computer Science
Department.  They are funded under the EPSRC Special Research Project
``Foundational Structures for Computer Science".  The Principal Investigator
for this grant is Samson Abramsky, who is taking up the Chair in
Theoretical Computer Science at the University of Edinburgh in January
1996.  Further information about the project may be obtained from Samson

Candidates should have a PhD or equivalent qualification, and a strong
background in Theoretical Computer Science. Research experience in
concurrency is desirable for the first post, and in denotational
semantics for the second.

Salary will be on the scale \pounds 14,317 - \pounds 19,848 p.a.  with
placement
according to qualifications and experience. The positions will be for
two years in the first instance,with the possibility of renewal for a
further two years.
