Hi,
the topic this week will address the presence of the COMP in the Relative
Clause trees in the grammar. The COMP is currently built into the trees.
Two weeks ago, Fei had brought up the question of whether we could find an
analysis which allowed the COMP to adjoin in rather than have it built
into the trees.
I am going to discuss a possible solution which will allow COMP adjunction
while maintaining the coverage that the current analysis provides.
