Recitation Exercises: 16-17 Feb

Goals

The goal of recitation exercises is to help you prepare for the topics we will cover in recitation and come ready with questions. You should plan on spending about 30 minutes on recitation exercises before your recitation or the day before.

Grading

Recitation exercises are credit/no credit: they do not need to be correct. However you must show your TAs at the beginning of recitation that you have worked on the exercises and thought about them, even if you have not completely solved them. You do not need to hand them in, and you may do them on the computer or on paper.

It is not acceptable to e-mail the exercises to your TAs in lieu of attending recitation, ahead of time, or afterward. Their purpose to help you prepare for recitation is defeated if you don't attend recitation or don't work on them until afterward!

Questions

Write out any questions you have about the recitation exercises and bring them to reciation rather than asking them on piazza or in office hours! These exercises are the starting point for discussion, and it's completely normal to have questions.

Exercise: Java and Strings

Write a program (in Java) that takes in an integer and a word. If the length of the word is equal to the first integer, then print something out.
