Peter - thanks for the update.

    We [met with] an engineer/supervisor out repairing the post office line on the
3rd of Jan due to a lightning strike , I enquired about the upgrade to
broadband and was informed that it would not be in the foreseeable future .
He didn't think the new line when installed was going to be fibre optic but
twisted pair as we have now . This was because of the cost !
   So it looks like you are correct that collectively we shall have to
contact as many people ie MP's HIE  and for another petition to BT urge them
to reconsider there plans for the area , bearing in mind that there other
telephone companies out there all looking for business
    Anyway this maybe of interest and we hope you all have a nice 2007
