Quizzes are scheduled for these dates:

• Wednesday, October 3
• Wednesday, October 17
• Wednesday, October 31
• Wednesday, November 14
• Wednesday, November 28
• Monday, December 10 (maybe a little longer than the others)

Quizzes will concentrate on the material most recently covered, but will not just be about the material most recently covered. Anything in Java (or the Java tools) may be on the quizzes. Quizzes also attempt to test whether you have been doing the assigned programming.

I will not be giving a make-up quiz for each quiz that I give, because it's just too much work for me. Instead,

• I will drop the lowest quiz score (A missing quiz counts as a low quiz score.)
• If you have two or more missing or very low quizzes, I will offer one make-up quiz, covering everything, at the end of the semester, to replace one missing quiz or your second-lowest quiz score. This quiz may be extra difficult and will replace one quiz score (it could actually lower your grade), so you should not take it unless you really need to.

Quizzes will be 40% of the grade, programming assignments the other 60%.Grades will be curved.
