The Computer Science Dining Philosophers is hosting a series of free weekly
Intro to LINUX/UNIX classes on Sundays from 4 pm to 5 pm. The next class is
THIS SUNDAY (9/21).

Learning Linux/Unix is a good way to help you do better in some of your
CSE courses. Every Computer Science Major should have a good
understanding and feel for Linux/Unix, and this series of classes will
help get you started.

WHO:

The classes will be taught by Meng Weng Wong (mengwong@dumbo.pobox.com),
a Penn CSE alumnus and a former President of the Dining Philosophers.

Everyone is welcome to attend. No experience is necessary.

WHAT:

Meng will get you comfortable with Linux/Unix. Topics to be covered
include navigating the file system, programming in Linux/Unix, accessing
Unix remotely from a Windows or Mac computer, using grep and regular
expressions, and much more.

WHEN:

There will be 6 classes all on Sundays from 4 to 5 pm. The remaining class
dates

are:
9/21
9/28
10/5
10/26
11/2

You are welcome to come to as many or as few of the classes as you want,
but you will obviously get the most out of the classes if you attend all
of them.

WHERE:

All of the classes will be in Moore 100B (aka the Dance Lab or the CSE
130 lab)
