The llncs.cls macro package from Springer .
Authors are advised by Springer to convert ot Latex2e. Such conversion will simplify the editors' task greatly. Please invest the little effort to convert, now, if you ahve not done so already.
You will need to send to the editor (beeri@cs.huji.ac.il) the Latex source of your file, and also ps/eps files for figures. If you use any special macros, style files, etc. these also will have to be sent. The Latex sources are needed, first so the page numbers can be inserted, and second because Springer needs them for the electronic version.
Although processing of Latex at the editor's site should be easy, ps/eps files have sometimes caused problems. Also, some authors become aware of the fact that their site is using a local package only when they try shipping. Hence, it is important that you obtain the Springer style file llncs.cls NOW, and run a version of your paper with it. Once that is done, send the source with all the extras mentioned above to the editor (beeri@cs.huji.ac.il). You will be notified if all goes well, or there are some problems, in latexing it. In the latter case, the editor and you should work together to solve it. This source will be just for testing, of course. This process should guarantee that when your final version is sent (one minute before the deadline) no unexpected problem arises.
If you use Word, notify the editor, let him know which version of Word you are using. Obtain the Springer style file for Word, use it for your paper, then send the Word file to the editor, as above.
Please do not defer work for later. There is not much time left, and if papers are not shipped to Springer on time, the proceedings may not be available at the conference. Hence, the editor will not wait for late or problematic papers.
Also take into account that Sept 21, 22, 29, 30, Oct. 5, 12 are holidays in Israel (hence the editor may not respond to you on the same day). Th editor would appreciate receiving your final version files as early as possible, on Oct. 9 at the LATEST. The files should be sent by email. beeri@cs.huji.ac.il
