ICDT is a biennial international conference on theoretical aspects of databases and a forum for communicating research advances on the principles of database systems. Initiated in Rome, in 1986, it was merged in 1992 with the MFDBS symposium series initiated in Dresden in 1987. ICDT aims to attract papers of high quality, describing original ideas and new results on theoretical aspects of all forms of database systems and database technology. While special emphasis is put on new ideas and directions, papers on all aspects of database theory and related areas are presented. The conference proceedings will be published in Springer-Verlag Lecture Notes in Computer Science series.
The conference will take place in Jerusalem, between the 10 and 12 of January 1999. It will feature a single thread of presentations, consisting of the papers selected by the program committee, invited talks and a tutorial.
The conference will be followed by a workshop on Query Processing for Semistructured Data and Non-standard Data Formats. For more details, see one of the URL's above.
