We have presented an overview of the MediSim system and discussed a prototype real-time implementation, virtual environment embedding, and distributed interactive simulation. During the first year, we refined our view of the system while carrying out initial development. During the next year, we will complete the simulation monitor and the health display, while development on the image generator module, the physiological and wound models, the entity controller, the dynamics simulator and the system for modeling and animating bleeding will continue. Planned work also includes multi-resolution view switching, networked PSMs and autonomous air evacuations units, and completion of the full-up human in the NPSNET/DIS synthetic environment. Finally, we will begin the integration of the corpsman development in Jack 6.0 into Sandia's virtual environment.
