FreeBSD Implementation of Protocol Boosters

BSD logoA FreeBSD TCP/IP protocol stack was modified to support dynamical booster insertion and removal. Crypto Booster and Compression Booster were tested on this platform. Prototype embeds boosters in the 4.4. BSD-Lite Internet Protocol (IP) stack. Software is freely available for download. Please see the README file for installation instructions.  Experimental results have been reported in the paper by Mallet, Chung and Smith. Experiments have demostrated that the operating system overhead is minimal and the major cost of boosting in the processing algorithms.
